South Wales Miners’ Museum needs your help


South Wales Miners’ Museum is expanding and needs volunteers to help us grow and keep the industrial heritage of the Afan and Llynfi valleys alive.

We are currently looking for: volunteer museum assistants, Tour guides and Heritage Walk leaders.


We can offer opportunities to:

  •  gain confidence and learn new skills

  •  Conserve Museum objects

  •  Test out a new career

  •  help organise events in the museum and in the community

  •  take tours of the museum and on our new outdoor digital heritage walk

  • Gain administration experience and learn how an office is run

  • Work in the community as part of our outreach activities


All levels of experience are catered for we can accommodate weekday and weekend volunteering, whenever you’re available. No minimum commitment is necessary.
